B&N.com

Okay well, my last post was a bit of a lie. I decided I'm too impatient to wait to win another gift card, and there were no better coupons, so I got the peacock wax seal and the novel "Sleep, Pale Sister" by Joanne Harris instead. I paid a whole $0.60! Not too bad I'd say.

And now that that's on the way, I need a penpal or something, because B&N says thier wax is flexible, which I assume means it'll make it through the mail. Besides, I've always wanted a penpal.

Sign up with Ryan's mailing list! It's moderately lively (I'm exchanging with three people right now.) Strikethru posted about this, and I've linked to it a couple of times.

I have some old sealing wax and a couple of seals, too. I've been meaning to try it though the mail, though the stuff I have is pretty brittle. I remember a discussion about using these on Fountain Pen Network: requesting hand-canceling was recommended, so it doesn't go through the machines, and maybe protecting the sealed letter in an outer envelope.

Funny: my rubber-stamp thing just got me thinking about digging these out and trying them again.

Hm, maybe I should! I just made a little post on Indie Fixx's website about penpal renewal or something, but I'll surely try out his too. Can't have too many penpals! haha

There's a new hot glue wax (you use it with a hot glue gun! sweet!) apparently that goes through the mail really well. At least, that's what I've heard, so no need to add that tiny extra step. lol!

You can also find colored hot glue sticks and they are flexible and tend to make it through postal machinery better. They are also much cheaper than the flexible wax sealing sticks. I've also found it helps the process a great deal if you put the seal in the freezer for a bit and then take it from there and use it to create the seal. It seems the hot glue doesn't stick to the seal as badly.

I missed your technique for scoring all this cool stuff at sub $1 prices. Do tell.

Strikethru - there's this website that gives you random points for searching the interwebz, and I use it's toolbar instead of google.

Also, when you get people to sign up, you win the other persons point with your own (up to 1000). Of course, I don't have anyone else, but it's a good deal.

One of the prizes is a B&N.com $10 gift card for 1250 points.

It takes a while, but it's worth it, and since it doesn't seem like it's going to stop anytime soon, here's the link: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/radtastic
